Textbook Bundling & Customization: Is There Value?
Trends Among the best-selling textbooks in the United States, annual revisions have risen sharply over the past 10 years. In 1993, there were 622 New Edition announcements in the Nebraska Book Company, Inc., April Buyer's Guide. In 2003, this number jumped to 2,044, representing a 329% increase in just 10 years. Once revised, an older edition title has little or no value on the wholesale used book market. Students have no choice but to pay 33.3% more for a new book. Older editions generally end up in the dumpster.
